The 416 sq m Samsung LED centrepiece formed part of an ice hockey stadium upgrade in Zurich, Switzerland which also included 240 digital signage displays.
Samsung has supplied Europe’s largest indoor LED cube to the Swiss Life Arena in Zurich, Switzerland.
The giant LED cube forms part of an upgrade which also includes digital signage, monitors, and software.
The arena, which is the home of the ZSC Lions team, now meets National Hockey League (NHL) standards, a level typically only achieved by North American arenas.
Samsung, which is the arena’s official technology supplier, worked with the arena’s AV solutions partner Bild+Ton, providing 669 sq m of LED in total, totalling over 18 million LEDs.
The central LED Cube display — which measures 12m x 12m x 8m — incorporates 416 sq m of LED and can be seen regardless of where fans sit in the arena’s 12,000 seats. During the process of construction, the teams collaborated to keep the total weight as low as possible.
The project also includes ribbon boards — long and thin LED screens mounted on the face of balconies — and audio equipment.
Samsung also installed 240 displays across the stadium, including Q-series signage and the QMR series, and the Wall (IWA) microLED was installed in an auditorium, while Samsung B2B monitors were selected for the ZSC Lions’ offices. Samsung’s MagicINFO 9 software supports content, device and data management across all the displays throughout the arena.
