Netflix will raise prices for all subscription tiers in the UK and Ireland following recent price increases in other regions such as North America and Northern Europe.
The new higher prices already apply for new subscribers while existing subscribers will receive a 1-month notice over email in the near future.
Here are the new prices in the UK and Ireland:
Netflix Basic (SD, 1 stream) will increase by £1 to £6.99/month in the UK and by €1 to €8.99/month in Ireland.
Netflix Standard (HD, 2 streams) will increase by £1 to £10.99/month in the UK and by €2 to €14.99/month in Ireland.
Netflix Premium (4K HDR, Dolby Atmos, 4 streams) will increase by £2 to £15.99/month in the UK and by €3 to €20.99/month in Ireland.
– “Our updated prices reflect the investment we have made in our service and catalog and will allow us to continue making the series, documentaries and films our members love as well as investing in talent and the creative industry. We offer a range of plans so members can choose a price that works best for them,” Netflix said.
Netflix’s last price increase for UK subscribers came in December 2020 and for subscribers in Ireland in March 2021.
Netflix is estimated to have roughly 14 million subscribers in the UK and 600,000 in Ireland, according to analyst firm Ampere Analysis.
