PPDS and Poly have been named as official team suppliers to the Red Bull Racing Team which supplies the current Formula One world drivers’ champion Max Verstappen. The news came in two separate announcements published today.
The partnership will see Philips professional TVs, digital signage, LED displays and monitors used by the Red Bull Racing Team during all 23 Grand Prix race events as well as inside the team’s HQ in Milton Keynes in the UK.
Housed above the team garages and pit lane, typically overlooking the start/finish straight, the Red Bull Racing Paddock Club will include PPDS’Chromecast built-in Philips MediaSuite (x4) and Philips B-line (x2) professional TVs – providing live 4K UHD coverage of the race, access to exclusive behind the scenes content, coverage links to the RBR pit lane, and audio feeds from the drivers and crew. Guests are also able to virtually experience racing around the track for themselves, in RBR racing simulators equipped with gaming monitors from sister company, AOC.
Taking centre stage in the RBR Paddock Club, will be a 10m sq m, 1.5mm pixel pitch, Philips L-Line 9000 UHD direct view LED display. Measuring 4.85m wide, and 2.05m high, the 48 cabinet, 8 x 6 LED wall xB can be installed and de-installed quickly from and into two bespoke, highly durable flight cases.
Designed by PPDS and manufactured by Dutch firm, AMPCO Flashlight B.V, a bespoke mounting mechanism allows two folded, half screens to seamlessly join together, giving the appearance of a single surface, while the cases allow safe and secure transportation.
Martijn van der Woude, director of international business development at PPDS, commented: “When it comes to F1, every second counts, both on and off the track. A giant LED wall that needs to be installed 23 times a season in a busy, time and space-restricted environment may have seemed like a non-starter for some. However, at PPDS, this is just the type of challenge our teams enjoy rising to – a challenge that, working together with our partners, we were able to overcome, ensuring RBR guests are engaged with the most immersive, high quality and visual race day experience available anywhere in the F1 Paddock Club.”
PPDS will shortly be launching a brand new partner programme incentive, offering a number of personalised money-can’t-buy Formula One experiences.
Meanwhile, as official headset and video conferencing hardware partner for Red Bull Racing, Poly’s pro-grade gear will support the team by providing clear and constant communication. Red Bull Racing will work with Poly Studio X30 and X50 video bars as well as Voyager 4320 headsets and CCX 500 phones, and there are plans to deploy more kit in meeting rooms and in a new Red Bull Powertrains facility.
Poly President and CEO Dave Shull said: “As the 2022 season kicks off, Red Bull Racing will rely on Poly’s premium audio and video technology to ensure every word and gesture is captured with precision and clarity, delivering a reliable collaboration experience in support of their business, from any location in the world.”
